Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, a prominent and controversial writer in the Pakistani drama industry, has recently been in the spotlight due to a kidnapping and honey trap case. The news generated significant criticism towards Khalil on social media. In a detailed interview with Mohsin Bhatti on GNN, Khalil expressed his trauma from the ordeal and revealed that he is contemplating a decision he never thought he would make – leaving Pakistan and relocating elsewhere. This desire to leave his home country is a new sentiment for him, brought on by the recent events.
During the interview, Khalil also mentioned his disappointment with his fraternity friends for not openly supporting him. He emphasized that he considers himself his own friend and views most people as mere colleagues. Despite this, he expressed gratitude that not everyone immediately attacked him, contrasting with a past incident five years ago when he faced criticism after a televised altercation.
Reflecting on the social media backlash, Khalil expressed deep disappointment and even stated that if given the chance, he might not choose to be born in a country that does not honor its heroes.
