Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, born on 18 July 1957, is a Pakistani business tycoon and stock trader who founded and chairs the AKD Group. The AKD Group operates in various sectors including Financial Services, Real Estate, Telecom, Infrastructure, and Natural Resources. Dhedhi’s father, Haji Abdul Karim Dhedhi, was a prominent businessman. His family, Kutiyana Memons, migrated to Pakistan from Junagadh in 1947. Dhedhi completed his schooling in Karachi and began his career by engaging in the export business with his brother. He initiated cotton business projects while in the seventh grade. Dhedhi entered the stock market in 1976 at the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and established his own office at the KSE in 1984.
